Adon is a fine student of the legend of Muay Thai kickboxing, Sagat. His abilities were exceptional, and his skill in practicing the martial art was said to compete with that of Sagat's himself. As for Adon, he always admired his master and recognised him as the greatest Muay Thai fighter alive. However, to avoid further comparisons with his master, Adon trained under a different power than Sagat used: the jaguar. Even though Adon managed to create his own style and proper techniques, everybody still couldn't see him farther than a student of Sagat. Adon was enraged by this, and felt anger against his master for the first time, but remained silent.However, Adon seemed to have troubles finding Sagat since he was also training hard and wandering the world in search of Ryu to demand his revenge.

Balrog's punches could tremble even the hardest rock. He looked promising, and in fact, he was. Soon, Balrog became more and more involved with official boxing matches, and he climbed up the long ladder of success throughout the boxing circuit. He began to win money, get a lot of girls, and possess everything his heart desired. It wasn't suprising at all that with the force of Balrog's jabs, uppercuts, he gained the heavyweight championship. Balrog became even more agressive in the ring and was dismissed by the Boxing commision.
As fast as Barog had reached the top he reached rock bottom. His money flew away, spent on drinks, bets, girls, and cars. Out of money Balrog desperately tried to get work, but people had already lost hope in him. Nobody would ever give such a violent man work. Nobody except the violent organisation - Shadoloo.

Birdie was involved with this life of crime ever since he was a kid. Learning the ways of the street (such as mugging and grappling), Birdie became a member of many gangs off and on. Birdie always sought the biggest loot out of any operation. If the work wasn't productive enough, Birdie would easily find a job in one of the many English pubs as a bouncer, with his impressive build making him quite adequate for the job.
However, during his many criminal deeds, Birdie had heard from his partners that there was a big crime organization that already had many contacts throughout the world. The operations they commanded were big, and the winnings were far over anybody's imagination. It was said that only the strongest could enter as a member of the group. Its name was Shadoloo, and it's leader was a mysterious man known as M.Bison.

Since birth M.Bison had a special power, he was able to control things by his mind. As he grew this telekinesis power evolved into something stronger. However another member of his family also had this power - Rose.M.Bison began to abuse this power until he realised that it was possible for him to do even better, he could control the world. M.Bison loses control to his power and now he seems to be invincible as long as his powers remain with him. Able to encase his whole body in his power, he is a very dangerous fighter as he can fight on different levels.He enters the tournament to employ fighters with high fighting potential.

During a stormy night over Brazil, an airplane had difficulty passing through a tropical storm. Both the pilots and passengers were terrified by the magnitude of the storm. A little boy named Jimmy was in that plane. He was on his way to visit his mother, when all of a sudden, a lightning bolt struck the plane. The airplane crashed violently into the Brazilian jungle. No one survived the crash except one: Jimmy had barely survived. From then on, he lived in the jungle among the animals, learning from them the secrets of the wild.As a result of the crash, Jimmy suffered amnesia. He remembered little or nothing of his past with his mother. During his years in the jungle his body mutated to adapt to jungle life. Jimmy no longer existed, but rather a beast known only as Blanka.

A while back, Cammy was an honorable member of Shadoloo, one of their top soldiers. She was a ruthless assassin that always obeyed the orders of her master, Bison. She was almost like a symbol for the crime organisation, and she never seemed to be bothered by this fact.

The largest reason for her determination, was the love she felt for the master of Shadoloo, Bison himself. Bison may have also felt for her, but being an evil entity unable to express feelings, abused the trust Cammy gave in him, and used it to manipulate her to his will.Cammy is drawn between her true feelings and the immense power of M.Bison's Psycho Power. Can she break the hold and find out just who she is and where she belongs.

Charlie Nash was presumed dead when he was thrown off the top of a cliff in venezuela. M.Bison retrieved his dog tags and presented them to Guile who sets out to find the truth about his friends death. But Nash is alive, he landed on a lower platform.

Nash knows now that his special forces unit had been under control of M.Bison all along, they were just pawns to M.Bison. Nash hears of Guile in a fighting tournament and he goes to find him to see if Guile is in league with M.Bison. Nash finds Guile and together they set out to take down M.Bison.

Chun Li's father was assigned to trace the actions and movements of a crime organisation known as Shadoloo, it's headquarters based somewhere in Asia. That was the last time Chun Li ever saw her father. Chun Li's father was noted as missing in action. All signs pointed to him being captured by Shadaloo. Without thinking about it twice, Chun Li went in search of her father. Tracing the steps of Shadoloo, she managed to stumble across its leader, an evil man known as M.Bison.

Chun Li demanded Bison tell her what he did with her father. Bison just laughed and gave Chun Li the terrible news: he had died while facing Bison himself. Chun Li was enraged, and M.Bison vanished laughing. Chun Li, deterimed to exact revenge on Bison, signed up as an Interpol agent, and was comissioned to pursue Shadoloo; the same task her father carried with limited success.

After rescuing Jessica (Final Fight 2), Cody wasn't right. He went missing for days and always appeared in a daze. Even close friend Guy and girlfriend Jessica were dumbfounded by Cody's actions. Then one day, it finally happened. Cody went berserk and begun pummeling anyone he saw on the street. He had this aggressive streak in him that he couldn't control and had to let it out by picking fights with punks, cops, anyone. Haggar had no choice but to dump the once hero into jail and charged him with numerous counts of assault and battery. Cody was subsequently convicted of all the charges he faced and locked up for good, despite the judge's ruling of temporary insanity. He was then deported to an unknown penitentiary, much to the dismay of Guy. Months turned to years and Guy never heard from his old friend, though he kept faith that he'd meet up with Cody again...

A moment came when Go Hibiki learned about a new fighter who had risen to the elite of the Street Fighter circuit, and was proclaimed "King of the Fighters". Go Hibiki was interested when he found that it was Muay Thai legend, Sagat. In his mind, Dan knew his father would come back. But fate can sometimes be cruel. In Thailand, Sagat and Go Hibiki faced each other. Go Hibiki was getting the hang of the fight, surprising Sagat with his techniques, and taking random pokes. Go Hibiki managed to destroy one of Sagat's eyes. Blinded with rage, Sagat went all out and crushed Go Hibiki. When the news reached Dan,he felt fear for the first time, there were people stronger than his father. Dan reached Gouken, and began training with him. But, news came to Dan that Sagat had been defeated. H e could beat Sagat. But Gouken, condemning the use of martial arts for personal intentions, kicked Dan out of his dojo.

Of course, nobody said that making a tune with kickboxing would be easy.

Dhalsim is only one of the few who can presume himself to be a Yoga master. He has trained in the most purest art of kung-fu, and has learned from the greatest masters the true meaning of kung-fu, and has brought that knowledge to the movies, making him a national hero in his home country, Hong Kong,
However, when he began his training, he asked himself if training just to act on a movie set was really worth all the trouble and all the effort, of all his years of training. Fei Long now knew that kung-fu's real meaning was to perfect it at any turn, create his own style, and pass it over to his disciples.

Gen is one of the oldest fighters alive, and one of the few masters of Chinese kung fu that dominates several styles of it. Gen has faced hundreds of opponents during his lifetime, and perhaps one of the few fighters who still take their roots at heart. He is a purist at heart, and lives for the life of battle. However, that was a long time ago, where he enjoyed his fights.
However, now that Gen feels he has reached the end of his life span, he doesn't want to take any risks. However, there is still one enemy that Gen yearns to fight, but not just for the spirit of the battle, but also to save his own life--because one day he was witness to the powers of Dark Shotokan, he now has to live with the pursuit of the demons of the Dark Shotokan. However, since he is reaching the end of his life, he doesn't care, and will now face everybody he needs to get out alive.

Akuma trained along with his big brother, Gouken, in the ways of Shotokan Karate underneath the teaching of Goutetsu. Both brothers were very different in their paths. Gouken sought the secret of the fight, the reason of why people fight. Akuma, on the other hand, seeked only his personal ambitions, to become powerful, and to be stronger than anyone else in the world. Being a wise man, Goutetsu saw the fury in Akuma's eyes, and decided to cast Akuma away from his dojo. Akuma was blind with anger, and vowed that one day, he would come back and teach his brother and master a lesson for daring to try to challenge him. Akuma never renounced his teachings and upon further investigation, Akuma found a curious fact indeed: the "forbidden part", "the killing power of Shotokan Karate", and the "sealed evil". Everything merged in one main reference: the Dark Hadou.

Guy is a follower of the Bushido philosophy and a master of Ninjitsu. Guy trained since his youth in the school of Ninjitsu, and his master was also a great legend of Ninjitsu and also a follower of the Bushido path, Zeku (who was trained by the greatese ninja legend alive, Genryusai). There he trained along with the daughters of Genryusai, who were taken in by Zeku because Genryusai was too old to teach them, and decided that his young disciple would do fine in teaching them. Their names were Lena and Maki. Guy instanly fell in love with Lena, who wasn't quite as skilled a student, and decided to act just as a house keeper. They decided to marry, but then Guy discovered his true destiny.

Edmond Honda begin to practice the legendary art of Sumo from a young age. Very early in his life Honda began to stand out in the Sumo circuit, showing a tremendous ability with the Sumo arts, using his weight almost as if it was never there. Soon enough, Honda got a shot at the top honors of the Sumo world, and one of them was to obtain the "Yokozuna" title, or grand champion. After many years of training, he finally obtained the title, and there seemingly was no other man in all Japan (or all the world for that matter) who could equal his Sumo skills. Overwhelmed by this, Honda now saught a new arena: now he would show the world the true power of Sumo. Even though most of the world thought that Sumo wasn't truly a real sport, Honda didn't mind: he would prove otherwise after crushing the skulls of his other opponents.

Juli is part of M.Bisons assasin army. She posesses similar moves to Cammy, which poses two questions. Was Cammy part of the original line up and all assasin's were taught the same style, or did M.Bison use his psycho power to create additional fighters similar to his main player Cammy.

Juni as with Juli posses moves similar to Cammy. Her costume is dark blue as opposed to Cammy's bright blue clothes. Have Juni and Juli been brought into the competition to stop Cammy discovering the truth behind M.Bison, or is he simply using them as delaying tactics before he can finish his plan.

Karin Kanzuki is the only daughter of an extremely wealthy family that also owns a huge corporation with virtually unlimited resources.Karin's family motto is: "Be the winner at everything you do" or "All you need is victory". Both are used in the game. One is in her beginning intro, the other is in her winning quotes. Karin lost a fight to Sakura, so now she travels across the world, searching for her rematch.

Ken is the only son of a wealthy American family, the Masters. Ever since his youth, Ken has been surrounded by tremendous riches, however he was also very undisciplined. Ken needed discipline and his father sent him to a man named Gouken. When Ken reached Gouken's dojo, he noticed done thing: this certainly wasn't like home. Gouken submitted Ken to strict rules, and Ken felt for first time the iron hand of a superior. Ken had to train very hard, and not slack off like he did back home, or he would be punished. However, Ken found a friend. A friend that was different from his friends back in America. His name was Ryu, and he had been in the dojo long before Ken had arrived, but Ken soon caught up. However, Ryu had that certain something that distinguished him from Ken, maybe his greater fighting spirit, but otherwise, Ken and Ryu's abilities were considered for the most part equal.

Rainbow Mika is the female equivelent of Russian wrestler Zangief, and thus it is he who is her idol and, he who she wants to challenge to test her skills. However unlike Zangief R.Mika is far more fun loving which is reflected in her moves. Her moves also seem to resemble the US Wrestling style rather than the traditional style as used by Zangief.

Rolento first entered the crime scene as a member of the Mad Gear gang, the group that ruled Metro City with an iron fist. However, Rolento disliked being under somebody else's orders, so he wasn't affected at all by the destruction of it at hands of the mayor of Metro City, Mike Haggar, and his friends Cody and Guy. However, Rolento had not forgotten the humilliation the trio had made him suffer during the battle, and swore he would get even one day.
After Mad Gear's disintegration, Rolento collected several members of it, plus some more soldiers of his own to create a small army under his ommand. Rolento was very strict with his soldiers. It is rumored that once, he actually hung one of his own grunts to prove a point to the rest of the group.

Rose is a psychic, who predicts destinies through the tarot cards. However, Rose's purpose in this world is not to tell fortunes. Rose controls and wields a power that can be used for both healing and destroying: a power known as "Soul Power". Rose channels this soul power through any part of her body, and even through objects. Rose always seeks the perfect balance between the forces of good and evil. If anybody dares to unbalance that scale, she enters the action, erradicating any evil that lurks the world. Now, Rose feels that the planet's energy is more unbalanced, toward the dark side, now that many evil forces have appeared roaming the earth. The most powerful of them seems to come from a being weilding the awesome "Psycho Power". Now that Rose has detected the precise source of it, she will go out and face the evil being known as Bison.

Ryu's life began as an orphan who was picked up by the great legend of Shotokan Karate, Gouken. He was taken to Gouken's dojo back in the mountains of Japan, and began to teach him in the arts of Shotokan Karate. Gouken found that Ryu had a certain feeling, something that made him special; that dedication, his ability, his ability to practice the art gracefully and how easily he mastered the basics. Gouken thought he had found the perfect disciple to pass down his knowledge. However, a rich American boy named Ken Masters came to the dojo shortly after Ryu, and thus, both trained under Gouken's liege--but Ryu always had that special something that made him a dedicated warrior and an excellent fighter.

Sagat was originally crowed the 'King of Street Fighters' until Ryu beat him giving him that scar across his chest. Sagat has been busy training to get a re-match against Ryu and has to enter the competition to reclaim his title. However Sagat is also being chased by his one time student Adon who is dissapointed with his masters failure and demands a match so he can be claimed the No 1 thai fighter.Dan hibiki is also after Sagat after he killed his father. Sagat does not care for these he is after only one person - that person is Ryu. Though along his travels he meets up with M.Bison offering him a option he can not decline.

Sakura is a school girl who wishes to be as good as Ryu. She has lost to him before, but after winning against Karin she has a new fighting spirit ready to take on Ryu again.Her fighting style is similar to Ryu's but this is only down to her copying Ryu she does not have the experience that Gouken taught Ryu.Another fighter is interested in Sakura - M.Bison recognises the fighting style and wonders if she worked for him with his psycho power would he have a lethal fighter on his side?

Sodom has entered the tournament to recruit people for the Mad Gear gang. After Sodom proved himself he went back to Japan to prove that Sumo was not the strongest style after all. Sodom issues a challenge to all the 'weaker' sumo wrestlers. It is here that E.Honda challenges Sodom, and decides to enter the Street Fighter tournament.

T.Hawk the biggest street fighter of all wants his beautiful home land back so he enters the tournament to persuade M.Bison to do just that.T.Hawk fights with honour and believes that anyone smaller than him, i.e. everyone is inferior. When he challenges Ken, Ken is reluctant to fight as he knows he will win, he is waiting for Ryu.T.Hawk is angered by this, and begins to fight Ken. Ken wins easily but decides to leave the battle with T.Hawk wounded on the floor. T.Hawk does not accept this, it is a sign of weakness to be left beaten but still able to move. Ken decides to leave T.Hawk to deal with his defeat.T.Hawk wants revenge, he has a new cause. Ken didn't finish him off because he couldn't. Is this right? T.Hawk seems to think so.

The vain spanish bullfighter returns to wow his adoring fans. Vegas fighting style is original most probably his own idea to please his supporters.He is from a long line of noble men and has been able to do what ever he wants without fear of being caught. Now in the street fighter tournament he is able to fight with no restrictions and toy with his victims before slicing them with his three prong blade.His only weakness is his face, if this gets scratched then Vega loses all self control and becomes desperate. Many good fighters have used this as an advantage.

Zangief the Russian Tsar wrestler is angered that his once strong country has become weak whilst America becomes increasingly weathlier and Russia remains poor.Zangief decides to enter the tournament to prove to the world that Russia is still the strongest nation and any Americans he can destroy will be fun.Zangief is one of the strongest street fighters, he spends his time wrestling with wild bears, which explains his numerous scars. His weakness is his speed, faster characters have defeated him easily. Zangief believes that if you are to fight then you should do it face to face.
